Ok I wanted to kind of tell everyone what is it that me and Ty actaually do everyday! I work at Sorenson Communicatins. I do Caption Call! It's a little hard to explain exactly what I do but....I will try my best :-) Basically...I help hard of hearing people have conversations over the phone (Mostly Grandparents) They DO NOT hear or communicate with me at all. A lot of people think that I actually talk to them. No I dont. I listen to who they are talking to so...let's say Dave is the hard of hearing person, and he is talking to his son Steve. So I listen to everything that STEVE is saying and repeat it. Everything that I say, gets captured thew the head set I wear and types out for DAVE to read on his caption phone...make sense Kind of? lol Well under the Caption Call logo is a picture of what the hard of hearing person's phone looks like with Caption call.
lol I fogured I should put some kind of picture of me actually at work...I felt kind of dumb taking a picture of myself at work so that's the best ya get lol You can see someone sitting kind of behind me. I am in a big room full of Cubicles and we all sit and Caption all day! lol fun right?? No it's actually a pretty good job. Just like all jobs, some days are better then others. We get really really hard calls sometimes that are impossible to Caption clear. Or for some reason our computer is not reading what we are saying in our head set very clear, and then it types out all funky for the hard of hearing person...if that makes sense. It's good though! I get health benefits, Paid sick time, and paid vacation time! If you know of anyone that needs a caption phone, or if YOU need a caption phone, it is completely free! :-)
